Dedicated to the memory of Maggie McCutcheon

On the 27th December 2021 Maggie died peacefully at home with her family around her. As you will know she lived a full and vivacious life and worked tirelessly for the betterment of others. During the last 10 years of her life she lived with, and ultimately died from, cancer. However, it was only the last 8-10 months during which this really affected Maggie's daily life. Until that point, she remained as active, intellectually stimulated and tenaciously engaged with social justice and progress as she ever was.

Her passing, although peaceful and in precisely the place she wanted it to be, is a terrible loss to family, friends and to many others who perhaps might only know her through her work in public health and local politics.

You're all invited to use this page as a place of memorial, to share thoughts, music, pictures and stories about Maggie. If it feels right you can make a donation to one of the charities which Maggie had always supported: Northampton Hope Centre who she worked closely with, in recent years, and NSPCC which is a national charity she has always supported.

Details of her funeral are all available below. Several years ago, Maggie expressed an interest in natural burial, and therefore she will be interred at The Windmills Green Burial site after which there will be an extended ceremony and reception with light refreshments in The Great Hall at The Guildhall, Northampton. Later we will be heading to The Labour Club which will be opening for business in memory of Maggie and the work she did there. Music and dancing mandatory, drinks and food available.

The day is open to all family and friends so please do join us in whatever way you can. We would kindly ask that you contact Jack to let him know if you are planning to attend.
